1954 AUSTIN HEALEY 100/4 BN1 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE Beautifully finished in red with black leather trim and black hood. The car is supplied with the British Heritage Certificate No. HT/2003/5732 informs us that this Austin Healey BN1 was an original home market right hand drive vehicle with the build date of 15th December 1954. The chassis number/engine/body all check out as correct from new. The car was purchased in 1980 from the original owner who had owned it for 34 years, tt was at that time in a dilapidated state of barn find condition. In November 1988 a painstaking ground up/body off restoration was started and was completed in 1990 by the second owner to replicate the car he had successfully raced in 1953. Thus the car was finished in his Colorado Red racing colours with an aluminium body (except for the boot). There are black and white photographic images of the second owner who restored this car showing him racing at Oiton Park and Silverstone in 1953 with his original race car Reg No. SFM830. During the restoration the mechanical parts were either overhauled or replaced. The car has covered a mere 6500 miles since the restoration was completed. The car is fitted with a laminated windscreen, heater, w/wheels, manual gears with overdrive, fog/spot lights, fold down windscreen, foldaway hood and union jack/GB badges etc. The history folder includes the original handbook, current V5 which informs us that there have been only 3 previous keepers since Dec 54 (from new) some 67 years. Owners Handbook, previous MoTs, various invoices, DVLA docs, a write up on this car, previous registration documents, RAC paperwork and an album showing 83 photographic images of the car as discovered in 1988 as a barn find up to full restoration.
