1967 CITROEN DS

SUPER RARE BARN FIND ROLLING RESTO PROJECT I dont tend to buy project cars as I dont have the time or patients to see them through, but I could not resist purchasing this absolute unicorn. Ive had a DS in the past and found them an incredible car of its time, but I had never come across an estate version until this one came my way. She has been dry stored since 1991 so off the road literally half her life. Was bought from the long time owner last year. She was then treated to a new hydraulic pump to get the suspension moving and then tucked back into storage. Will need fully recommissioning inside and out, we have had a little glance over her and she is pretty solid with minimal rot issues up together these fetch £30,000 - £40,000 Would make a great Resto Mod or Electric Conversion. The 8 seater ID21 'Familiales' had a rear seat mounted further back in the cabin, with three folding seats between the front and rear squabs. Introduced as a revision of the revolutionary DS and ID built back in 1958, the estate car was built on a longer wheelbase than its saloon sibling. It was known by different names depending on the destination market: Break in France; Safari and Estate in the UK; and Wagon in the USA. Familiales such as this one, had a third row of seats which could be folded away, while the standard Break had two side-facing seats in the main load area at the rear. This particular ID is one which shouldn't be overlooked, fitted with a 3 on the tree manual gearbox makes this already rare example even rarer. A small handful of these were produced in 1967 limiting their production numbers, and most of which would see themselves in the states, later coming to Europe as a conversion.
