This rare old girl has been in the UK since 1978 so not fresh of the boat. She's showing her age in places, but still very presentable, previous owner had the boot, bonnet and top half of the blue paint refreshed but not her sides, there is the odd mark, but still very presentable. Interior is showing its age in places but still, mainly the carpet and stitching coming loose on the drivers seat. This could be an easy repair in the right hands. Mechanically very good, sounds amazing and kept good temperature while I was doing the photoshoot. Plus was sat for about 6 weeks before I got round to prepping for sale and fired up without the battery pack and ran very well. The 1965 Ford Thunderbird was a classic car that was part of the fourth generation of Thunderbirds produced by Ford from 1964 to 1966. The Thunderbird underwent some significant changes in this generation, including a shift towards a more luxurious and personal luxury car design. The 1965 Thunderbird was available with several engine options, and one of them was the 390 cubic inch (6.4-liter) V8 engine. This engine was quite popular and offered good performance for its time. It produced around 300 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque, providing ample power for the Thunderbird. In terms of styling, the fourth-generation Thunderbird featured a sleek and aerodynamic design with a longer hood and shorter rear deck compared to its predecessors. It had a distinctive grille design and sequential turn signals, which were a unique feature at the time. Inside, the Thunderbird offered a comfortable and luxurious interior, with features such as power windows, power seats, and air conditioning. The car had a unique swing-away steering wheel that moved to the side to facilitate easier entry and exit. The 1965 Thunderbird 390CI is considered a classic car today and is sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its combination of stylish design, powerful engine, and luxurious features makes it a desirable choice for those interested in vintage American cars.
