1971 MG MGB

1971 MGB GT AUTOMATIC, 1798cc. This rare little beauty is 1 of only 1285 Automatic MGB GT's ever made. A true credit to the previous owner who had her for 31 years. She underwent a full bare metal restoration upon their purchase back in 1991, since then lived in a heated garage and even kept off the ground when she wasn't being used. She comes with a large history folder including photos of the restoration. 2 Sets of the keys Original handbook Speedo currently showing 17366 but this will of been round the clock once. In 1971 This car new cost £1495 MGBs were produced from 1962-1980; Total production - 512,112 MGB automatics were only produced from 1967-1973; Total production - only 452 roadsters and 1,285 GTs. BMC planned to sell them to the USA but US dealers did not think that customers would buy an automatic MGB, so it was never officially imported into the USA. This car was bought by the previous owners in 1991 and used as a daily commuter until 1998, then tucked up in a heated garage and used for leisure on nice days. Original engine, gearbox and back axle. WORK carried out; Suspension and steering rebuilt Brakes rebuilt Otherwise mechanically original (except for electric cooling fan). Headlamp replaced with new reflectors and halogen bulbs. Radiator replaced with aluminium Thermostatic electric fan. Stainless steel LCB exhaust manifold. Body renovated 1992/3 - every exterior panel, except roof, scuttle, and bonnet, was replaced. New inner sills, castle sections, and inner rear wheel arches were also fitted.
