It used the same die cast aluminium crank-case of the famous 2.7 RS Carrera, but the same 3.0 engine as the new 911 Turbo, which had then just been introduced A Total of only 2218 cars were built worldwide (in 76 & 77) of which just (181) were RHD Targa's (sold in 76) and only 26 with the Sportomatic gear box. Making this Porsche extremely rare indeed.
