A truly stunning classic in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. One of the last 120 pre "S" 928 cars made, very pure design with no spoilers, no side trim but benefiting from the improved suspension and braking, but without the troublesome later electrics (not my words but Porsche Club) Matching numbers, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity supplied confirming car was built to this specification. Finished in Helios Blue Metallic, with full dark Blue leather interior, including rear sun-visors, and load cover, and folding rear seats. The interior is undamaged and everything working as it should. The first owner had the car until 1993, and it has the receipts from Strattons showing the maintenance and servicing. It retains almost all of its MOT certificates confirming the mileage, all the way from 1988,93-94-95-96-97-98-99-2000, then stored until 2004 the from 2004 until present day. In 2012 it had the engine removed from the car and a full strip down, replacing piston rings, refurbished cylinder heads, replace all bearings, and re-fit engine, mileage at the time 103,717. Also it was re painted with all glass removed and panels, this cost £11,807. The paintwork is truly exceptional having had the correct paint supplied and Porsche Chiswick undertook the work, it really is excellent, and none of the defects associated with poor paint jobs, such as over spray or da marks on glass etc. More recently it has had all wheels refurbished £600 and fitted with the correct Pirelli Cinturatos this cost £1291.20, all new brake discs and pads front and rear, rebuilt calipers with stainless steel pistons, and brake pipes (lifetime guarantee) All new fuses and bulbs, all circuits cleaned and contact points, everything on this car works, dimmers, interior lights, sunroof, stereo, speakers, fog lights, cruise control etc, uprated Aluminium radiator, New Fluid in gearbox and rear diff serviced and fluid renewed. It has always been used and has benefited from the care and attention to ensure reliability, I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, let alone for everyday use. Oil pressure straight to 5 from cold, and sits just over 3 when idling when up to temperature, perfect gear-changes, all heater blower setting work and air conditioning has been serviced and works. Supplying dealer paperwork retained, factory toolkit and compressor, service book and manuals. This is not your average tired old unloved 928, Yes they cost slightly more to look after than a period Golf GTI but it is so much more car, utterly reliable and beautiful to drive, boot is Massive and very practical. I have been lucky enough to own many cars, from Derby Bentleys to a New Ferrari, so I like to think I know how a good car should drive, and I think this is a great example, any inspection most welcome.
