1948 Rover 60 P3 Produced for just two years, the Rover P3 is now a rare sight on British roads and is highly regarded for its transitional post-war engineering and timeless styling. With just three previous owners from new, this example is something of a unicorn. My father recently acquired this car, along with a 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30, from a deceased estate, and it is immediately apparent that the previous owner had a keen eye for quality and originality. Records show that he purchased the Rover in 2013 for £16,000. Powered by the smooth and dependable 1,595cc straight-four engine paired with a 4-speed gearbox, the car runs well. The bodywork and paintwork are exceptional for a vehicle of this age, while the underside is in fantastic condition with no rust concerns. As part of a light recommissioning process, the underside was treated with Lanoguard for added protection. Having been off the road for a couple of years, the Rover required very little effort to bring back into running order, which is a testament to both its engineering and previous care. The interior is tidy and presentable. The carpets are showing their age and would benefit from replacement in time, although they remain perfectly usable as they are. The leather seats present well with no rips or tears. The tyres are showing signs of age-related perishing but currently hold air without issue. Overall, this is a charming and increasingly rare post-war British classic, offering an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-preserved Rover P3 ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian. Private plate not included but can be purchased The vehicle is currently located in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, with my father, conveniently close to the ferry terminal. Part exchange considered, whether classic or modern. We can also recommended a good transport company if required.
